As someone who feels they are in the sunset of their career while at the same time can fortunately say they are having the time of their life, joining V5O has been another additional ray of sunshine. Not to brag, but unlike some, Covid has not been detrimental to my life. In fact, it’s caused me to take pause and find what is really important in life and what brings true happiness.
Having changed career paths a little over four years ago now from 24/7/365 stress driven CIO position to Director of Business Development for a local Northern New York telecommunications firm, Westelcom, my life has changed dramatically. Being involved in dozens of networking groups, meeting precovid in person but now mostly virtual, none hold a candle to the genuine connections I have made in the V50 community. From business referrals, to pulling out all the stops to assist me with a personal issue, my colleagues from V50 did not disappoint. Never have I felt anyone was assisting to insure they would be benefitting in return. Genuine, Sincere, Candid, Caring all are really not strong enough to describe the V5O community vibe.
I found V5O via LinkedIn as I was beginning my journey of the Tech Evangelist for Westelcom. This journey is a major lift and shift, not only for me but for Westelcom as a whole, as we move from a large regional player to expanding our footprint nationally. It will be the community ties and genuine relationships that I cultivate through the V5O community that will be one of my keys to success. It’s because my success, is their success, is our success. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me as part of the amazing V5O family.
